What’s the Athletic Banquet?
The athletic banquet is a year-end event hosted by the Athletic Council annually to celebrate the efforts of coaches and students! There will be an awards ceremony as well as food and refreshments for all the athletes. Don’t miss out on your last opportunity of the season and year to spend time with your fellow team!
Tickets
Purchase your banquet tickets for $5.00 by the athletic office or SAC office by May 13th! Otherwise, the last day will be the 17th and the tickets will cost $7.00.

The Platform Tennis Tournament
WHERE? Memorial
WHEN? Tuesday March 29th, 2011 @ 2:00pm (until 6:30pm)
WHAT?
A doubles tennis tournament comprised of boys’, girls’ and teachers’ teams that will face each other for a prize!
WHO?
Anyone! Students of all grades, skill and even teachers will be participating in this tournament. In order to be eligible you must sign up with a partner of the same gender to compete.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to show off what you got!
Sign up in pairs with Ms. Kaske at the Athletic Office.
There will be a $5.00 entry fee per team.
For the month of February…
the Athletic Council will be selling Dentyne gum!
Proceeds will not only help support our school’s athletic programs, but money raised will also go towards AIDS research and awareness.
Do your part by purchasing a pack of gum from a fellow council member at lunch. Gift it, share it or keep it to yourself!

Next week on Thursday February 10th is the school’s anuual skip trip. Students taking physical-related education courses will have the opportunity to go to Horseshoe Valley all-day to hit the slopes whether it is tubing, skiing or snowboarding (or a mixture of both).

Today marks the official start of the Senior Boy’s Ram Classic Tournament! A long standing tradition at Etobicoke Collegiate Institute.
Be sure to cheer on the teams when you get the opportunity to as it lasts throughout the day, today and tomorrow.
Due to the basketball tournament, the second badminton try out has been postponed until next Friday. Only individuals who were unable to attend the first try out need to participate on the 14th!
Badminton try-outs begin this Friday afterschool.
