Here are some brief and basic instructions on how to play chess, and how each piece movies.
In chess you must use your mind and your pieces in order to check-matethe enemy king. Check-mate is when the king has no safe place to go because wherever he goes he is beaing threatened by an enemypiece.Capture the enemy pieces slowly 1 by 1 untill you can mate theenemy king and win the game!
First of all we have the "Pawn". The Pawn's occupy the whole row number 2 of the chess board. This piece may move up 2 squares only if it's position before the move was it's original (2nd row). After that the Pawn may only move up by 1 square each turn. Capturing with a Pawn piece may only be done diagonally. You may not capture other pieces by going horizonally, only diagonally by 1 square.
Then we have the "Knight". The Knight's occupy the places 1 b) and 1 g) on the chess board. This piece may move in 2 different styles. One, you may go up or down by 2 squares and then go 1 square to the left or right. The other style is you may go up/down by 1 square and then left/right by 2 squares. You may only capture pieces if you move to their location using those 2 different motion patterns or styles.
We also have the "Bishop". The Bishop's occupy the places 1 c) and 1 f) on the chess board. This piece may only move diagonally, but it can move as many squares as you want it to move in 1 turn and it is able to travel both back and forth. You can capture any piece on your way going diagonally.
Then we have the "Rook". The Rook's occupy the places 1 a) and 1 h) on the chess board. This piece may only move horizonally and vertically, but it can move as many squares as you want it to move in 1 turn and it is able to travel back and forth. You can capture any piece on your way going diagonally.
